The straps are hanging down in the back, clipped together in the middle to the waistband. This lets the straps hang over the shoulder forming a soft cap.
I found that the snap I put on for Ellowyne was fine for the top, but I had to cinch it in at the waist.
When sizing for this doll, you should go by the thickest measurement and taper down to the waist. This means your waist rectangle will have slightly tapering sides to accomodate her small waist.

The straps are twisted together in the back and clipped together in the middle to the waistband. This gives a soft look without a cap sleeve.
I found that the snaps are a bit loose since the Antoinette body has a slightly smaller and shorter waistline than Ellowyne.
You can get away with a rectanglular shape for your waistband, but you'll find you need to cinch in at the waist just a bit when sewing your snap.

When sizing for the Tyler body, you should go by the thickest measurement below the breasts and taper down to the waist. This means your waist rectangle will have tapering sides to accomodate her small waist and large ribcage area.

The straps are tied together in the back with a loose square knot and clipped to waistband. This makes it look more like a halter top.
The Ellowyne body has a very long and very straight line from below the breasts to her hips. Her body is designed so you can add more bulk at the waist and give her more frills and ribbons, etc. You can cut a true rectangular waistband for Ello.

Carla in Rotterdam sent me this photo of her lovely Ipelhouse doll named Soo - who she very recently bought.
Carla cut up a blouse from her own closet to make this dress. She removed the flowers from hair clips she bought at H&M and sewed them to the bodice and waist as accents. I love the way Carla has matched the fabric to Soo's eyes and the flowers to her makeup palette. Her blonde wig suits this style very well.
You can see how large Soo is when you compare the size of the dolls behind her.
Well done, Carla! Soo is now ready for a summer soiree.

Lel in Wales sent me these photos. She said she had the most lovely day making this dress. She bought the top for £1.50 at a car boot sale* and used one of the flowers on the collar to put in Bella's hair.
