Currently I am working on items that are Fashionistas Barbie size, but plan to make some of these for 16" Dolls very soon.
The seams are finished and the belts are sewed onto the garment. As you can see, the back waist of each robe is elasticated. The gowns slip on with no back fasteners or straps, which not only reduce bulk, but make these very 'kid' friendly, yet lovely enough to please an adult collector.
The nightgowns are recommended for dolls who do not have rubber legs (such as older Barbies) since they won't slide up the doll very easily.
The gowns are elasticated at the top of the bodice and at the waist.
These items can be made from most any fabric, from lightweight flannel to thin cotton or satin.
